[12/03/2009] - Knürr ErgoScan – Analyses by certified workstation experts back
For the first time ever, Knürr Technical Furniture will now offer a comprehensive service ranging from testing through to concept creation for measurement consoles and control rooms

Ensuring the right kind of environment becomes indispensable as stresses and strains at the workstation continue to grow. Therefore not only legislators are interested in regular workstation checks and audits – they also represent a major plus point for the employer. The fact is that employees that work at optimum occupational therapy workplaces are absent less and therefore contribute to increased productivity.

More and more companies feel the need to subject their operating environment to a very precise analysis. Knürr Technical Furniture meets these requirements and now offers a detailed analysis and consulting for optimum use of operational rooms and adjusting company processes. “On the basis of employers’ and employees’ increasing health awareness, our motivation is to demonstrate optimization possibilities with an analysis or a concept,” says Gerhard Buchbauer, Knürr Technical Furniture General Manager, adding: “Technical Furniture’s proven workstation experts will meet these requirements with their extensive know-how and long-standing years of hands-on experience in the integration of technical furniture.” With Knürr ErgoScan the company enables its customers to visualize the requirements demanded by changing occupational health and safety laws. With the application of the respective know-how that Knürr brings to the table, numerous workflows can be optimized for all concerned, and the conditions for employees are therefore significantly improved.

Appraisals and consulting from one single source
“Provided in three different intensity levels, Knürr ErgoScan enables an exceptional technical assessment,” adds Werner Gropp, Knürr AG Marketing Director.
The Basic version guarantees a fast workstation analysis by a certified Knürr Technical Furniture expert, whereby the basics of the four components, control station, visualization, periphery and technical room, are established.
Knürr ErgoScan Pro goes one step further. This version contributes a good deal more than a “snapshot” of the current situation. It provides an evaluation of the operating environment in the form of a systematic room and workstation analysis. This enables a very detailed, specific implementation recommendation. The proposals for improvements are based on complex light, acoustic and temperature measurements, the results of which are subsequently relativized. Preplanning is then performed at Technical Furniture.
The Knürr ErgoScan Premium version contains even more in-depth activities. As an infrastructure system configuration of the respective technical furniture requires in-depth knowledge, Knürr Technical Furniture supports its customers with the required know-how and offers a holistic room and workstation planning that goes well beyond the scope of an implementation recommendation. A detailed concept is created, including comprehensive documentation, and is provided with the aid of a well known planning and architects’ firm. With Knürr ErgoScan Premium, Knürr is also responsible for the respective approval planning, detailed planning and execution planning. Design studies, a kick-off workshop and product support are also provided. All evaluated analysis results are then considered in detail with the customer in another workshop.
“With the new ErgoScan versions Knürr Technical Furniture allows all new information and know-how to be applied in full to the respective workstation conditions. On the basis of altered occupational therapy specifications, the analysis of today’s operational rooms is therefore an obligation – not a voluntary exercise,” sums up Mr. Buchbauer.
